The 24th of September of 2024 will hold the day of workshops of the SEPLN 2023, which will be celebrated at the same time than IberLEF2024 The aim of the day of workshops is to provide a pleasurable place to work in specific Natural Language Processing (NLP) topics, which allows to create or keep special interest groups on those topics.

The SEPLN2024 is pleased to invite workshop proposals on any topic of interest to the NLP community, ranging from fundamental research issues to more applied industrial or commercial aspects.

Workshop organisers duties

The duties of the workshop organisers are:

  • The promotion and dissemination of the workshop.
  • The release and management of the webpage of the workshop.
  • In case that the workshop publishes proceedings, the workshop organisers must manage the call, review, edition and publication of the proceedings. The template of the proceedings and the papers will be agreed with the SEPLN2024 organisers.
  • The communication with the SEPLN2024 organisers.

SEPLN2023 organisers duties

The organisers of SEPLN2023 are responsible for:

  • Supporting link to the workshop webpage.
  • Providing the workshop venue.
  • Organising registration, audio/visual support, registration facilities and Internet access.

Workshop proposals

The format of each workshop will be determined by its organisers, and the length must be up to one day. The proposals should contain the following:

  • Name of the workshop.
  • Motivation and description.
  • Type of the workshop. We clarify that we will not accept shared-tasks workshops, since the SEPLN shared-task workshop is IberLEF.
  • Important dates.
  • Dissemination plan.
  • Organising and program committee.
  • Organisation plan.
  • Number of participants estimation.
  • If the workshop will have financial support.
  • Likely needs for the day of the workshop.
  • Contact person.

The proposal has to be sent in PDF format to the email address: sepln2024-va@googlegroups.com.

Evaluation

Submitted proposals will be reviewed with respect to the following criteria:

  • Relevance and importance of the topics for the NLP and SEPLN community.
  • Completeness, clarity, and quality of the workshop proposal.
  • Viability of the workshop.
  • Capacity of attracting the participants and creating or keeping a special interest group.
  • Organisation plan of the workshop.

Remark: We will accept only a reduced number of workshops.

Important Dates

  • Workshop proposal due: 15 February 2024.
  • Workshop selection communication: 3 March 2024.
  • Workshop day: 24 September 2024.
